Coffee County Structure Fire on Tuesday Night

On June 11th, 2024, the Hickerson Station VFD was dispatched to a residential structure fire on Powers Bridge Road. Hickerson Station VFD, as well as automatic aid units from New Union, Hillsboro, North Coffee, and Summitville VFD all responded to the scene.

Upon arrival of the first engine the Officer-In-Charge noted an exterior deck that was fully involved in fire with possible extension into the attic space of the home. OIC confirmed that all occupants were out of the home and began suppression efforts. Units quickly knocked down the fire and another crew of firefighters entered the home with thermal imaging cameras and began searching for any extension of fire.

A positive pressure fan was placed at the front of the home to keep most of the smoke out of the home.

After confirming no extension of fire was present inside the home units began salvage and overhaul operations to extinguish any hot spots. The interior of the home suffered minor smoke, heat, and water damage with much of the damage being on the exterior. The cause of the fire is under investigation at the time of this release.

On Target News spoke with the homeowner who told us that there were no injuries to family members. Also, no injuries were reported to firemen.

Hickerson Station VFD would like to thank all automatic aid partners as well as the Coffee County Rescue Squad for providing rehab to firefighters.
