Dr. Stephens named TOSS South Central Superintendent of the Year

TULLAHOMA, Tenn. – Tullahoma City Schools Director of Schools, Dr. Catherine Stephens, has been recognized as the Tennessee Organization of School Superintendents (TOSS) South Central Superintendent of the Year. The honor places Dr. Stephens among the top education leaders in the state, as she now advances as one of eight regional finalists for the TOSS State Superintendent of the Year award, which will be announced later this fall.
The South Central Core of School Superintendents consists of 16 school districts spanning 13 counties, making Dr. Stephens' recognition a significant achievement among her peers in the region.
“I am beyond honored and humbled to be selected as the South Central Superintendent of the Year,” Dr. Stephens said. “The South Central Core of School Superintendents includes some of the finest leaders, not only in this region but across the state of Tennessee. This award is reflective of the great things happening throughout Tullahoma City Schools. Our district has the finest students, teachers, staff members and families, and I am incredibly proud to be the Director of Schools at TCS.”
Dr. Stephens has served as the Director of Schools at Tullahoma City Schools since 2020, where she has led initiatives to enhance student achievement, support educators, and strengthen community engagement. Her leadership has played a pivotal role in the district’s success, and this recognition further highlights her dedication to excellence in education.
The TOSS State Superintendent of the Year award recognizes outstanding leadership and contributions to education across Tennessee. If selected as the state winner, Dr. Stephens will move forward for consideration at the national level.
The Tullahoma City Schools community, along with colleagues and students, celebrate Dr. Stephens’ achievement and eagerly await the results of the statewide selection later this year.
