Duck River Electric Membership Corporation (DREMC) has announced an additional $26,000 in funding to support its Project HELP program in Bedford, Coffee, Franklin, and Moore counties, including $10,000 for Good Samaritan of Manchester. The program assists members struggling to pay their electric bills, particularly during the colder months when energy costs rise.
For over 30 years, Project HELP has relied entirely on donations from DREMC members, employees, and community supporters. The Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) and DREMC’s Community Care Fund have further bolstered resources, ensuring more residents receive assistance.
“With demand exceeding available funds, this contribution is critical to helping those in need,” DREMC stated.
Residents seeking assistance through Project HELP can apply at their local partnering agency. For more information, visit www.dremc.com.
