Falcons Edge Cats in Region Battle

The Tullahoma Wildcats dropped a back and fourth contest to the Lincoln County Falcons 42-35 Friday night at Wilkins Stadium in Tullahoma.

Propelled by a power rushing attack led by Brett Dobbs the Falcons scored on their first six possessions of the game. Dobbs tallied 30 carries for 222 yards and five rushing touchdowns.

Tullahoma scored first on the night on a 65 yard pass from Lucas Reed to Will Hyden. The teams traded touchdowns on the first six possessions of the game knotting the score at 21 with 5:16 to play first half. A turning point in the contest occurred in the next Tullahoma possession when the Wildcats went three and out. That allowed Lincoln County to take the lead for the first time on the next drive, a 6 play 71 yard affair capped by a 19 yard Dobbs touchdown run.

The Falcons scored on the first drive of the second half and lead by 14 points twice in the second half. Tullahoma would answer each time to make it a seven point game but could pull no closer and Lincoln County ran out the clock following an interception with 1:39 left in the game.

Marvancy Johnson posted his second two touchdown game of the season and finished the night with 18 carries for 171 yards.  Lucas Reed threw a pair of TD passes and finished the night 6-15 for 160 yards and an interception to earn Owens Provisions and Apparel Player of the Game honors.

The Wildcats who dropped to 2-3 on the season and 1-1 in region 5-5A hit the road to battle Columbia next Friday. Coverage starts at 6:30 93.9 The Duck.
