Fly Arts Center in Shelbyville to Undergo Major Restoration with $88K State Grant

A major restoration is coming for the Fly Arts Center in Shelbyville, thanks to an $88,000 “Capital Maintenance and Improvement Grant” from the Tennessee State Museum. Shelbyville Now announced that Jody Barnes Turner, president of the Arts Council Board, announced the award on Monday night. She said that the funds will go towards a number of much-needed improvements, including lighting upgrades, facility repairs, restrooms, and renovations to entry access, among others.

The Fly Arts Center is managed by the Bedford County Arts Council, which includes The Fly Community Theater, The McGrew Reception Hall, the Bedford County History Museum and The Fly Art Gallery.
