On Wednesday night, Coffee County Chief of Staff Sam Harper was named interim Director of the 911 Communication Center during a special called meeting of the Coffee County Communication Board. Scott LeDuc resigned last week as director.
Harper had been serving as Chief of Staff under late County Mayor Judd Matheny. As of July1 that job will return to an administrative assistant position.
Coffee County Communication Board will now begin the search for a new director that they hope is filled by December or sooner.
Also on Wednesday night, the full commission voted for an 8.5% raise for each county department. The department head is charged with how that money will be distributed to employees.
