An arrest was made in connection with the death of 16-year-old Maria Lucas Gaspar of Shelbyville. Justin Pickle was arrested in Columbia and charged with leaving the scene of an accident that resulted in death and tampering with evidence. Gaspar was reported missing to the Shelbyville Police Department on June 30 of this year by her mother. On July 8th, police recovered Maria's body from the side of Old Nashville Dirt Road, less than a mile from her residence. Justin was arrested by the Shelbyville Police Department and booked in the Bedford County Jail.
