Lady Cats Victorious, Wildcats Fall in Season Opener vs Oakland

In a pair of games decided in the fourth quarter the Tullahoma basketball teams split a season opening double header with Oakland Tuesday night at Tullahoma High School. 


Trailing by a point at the half the Lady Cats doubled up Oakland 18-9 in the third quarter to grab a 40-32 advantage heading into the final frame. Tullahoma then with stood the a final surge from the Lady Pats to secure a 55-42 win. 


Isabella Lidstrom led the way for the Lady Cats with 16 points and was named the Owens Provision and Apparel player of the game. McLayne Bobo also finished in double figures with 15 points. Kaydence Wisniewski led Oakland 


In the nightcap it was the Wildcats who fell victim to a hot had in the fourth quarter as Bryant Haggard, who finished with a game high 37, took over in the final frame to lead the Patriots to a 75-62 win. 


Xavier Ferrell led Tullahoma with 29 points to earn Owens Provisions player of the game honors. Jayden Thompson added in 10. 


Both the Lady Cats and Wildcats will be back on action on Saturday in the Hall of Fame Playday at Murfreesboro Central Magnet. 


The next broadcast on 93.9 The Duck is Monday when  Tullahoma host Battle Ground Academy. Coverage presented by Hogan’s Collision Center begins at 5:45.
