The Metropolitan Moore County Utility Department Board voted in last week’s meeting to accept Rogers Hydrant Service’s bid of just over $229,000 for upgrading water lines downtown. The upgrade will replace the old two inch lines to four inch lines. This was the lowest bid submitted. All board members were present and the vote was unanimous.
The project will be funded with available department monies so no money will be borrowed. Work will begin just after Labor Day and should be completed within 30 days.
