
A press release from the Coffee County Sheriff’s Department states:
On March 11, 2025, the Coffee County Sheriff’s Office was attempting to serve an indictment relating to an investigation conducted by the Coffee County Sheriff’s Office and the District Attorney General’s Office involving the death of a 3-month-old infant that occurred on 9/22/23. The infant was found to have died from acute fentanyl toxicity. While attempting to serve the indictment, the mother, Julianna Leasure, fled in a vehicle to avoid arrest. A short pursuit occurred where Ms. Leasure wrecked around the 109 mm on Interstate 24. Ms. Leasure was taken into custody and charged with Murder, Reckless Homicide, Child Abuse and Child Neglect or Endangerment, Evading Arrest, Assault Against First Responder or Nurse, Reckless Endangerment, Resisting Stop, Frisk, Halt, or Stop, Unlawful Use of Telecommunications Device, and Reckless Driving. Ms. Leasure’s bond is set at $74,000.00 with a court date set for 3/31/25.
