An accident involving motorcycle and a vehicle on I-24 near mile-marker 111 in Manchester around 1:15 Tuesday morning took the life of a Coffee County man.
According to a Tennessee Highway Patrol report, Jason S. Hogan (44) of Tullahoma, TN was operating a 2002 Suzuki motorcycle when for an unknown reason, he lost control and overturned. Hogan became separated from his bike.
A 2016 Buick driven by Christina S Smith (51) of Tennessee was traveling behind the motorcycle. Smith attempted to swerve to avoid striking the rider and motorcycle but was unable to safely avoid contact with Hogan due to surrounding traffic.
Hogan lost his life in the crash and Smith was uninjured, according to the THP report.
