BEDFORD COUNTY, Tenn. – Bedford County Fire and Rescue has officially added a new fire truck to its fleet, replacing a 34-year-old model at one of the department’s volunteer stations. The $485,000 vehicle, built by Rosenbauer America in South Dakota, is expected to serve the community for the next 20 years.

Fire Chief Mark Thomas and Assistant Fire Chief Brian Cantrell showcased the new truck at the Bedford County Courthouse on Tuesday, where County Mayor Chad Graham and Commissioners Greg Vick and John Boutwell inspected the department’s latest investment in public safety.

The truck boasts a 1,500-gallon-per-minute pumping capacity from an external source and carries 1,000 gallons onboard. Mayor Graham, who has a background in emergency services, emphasized that the addition is part of the county’s continued commitment to protecting lives and property.

The new fire truck marks a significant step in ensuring faster response times and improved firefighting capabilities for Bedford County’s residents.
