TULLAHOMA, Tenn. (AP) — Jack T. Farrar Elementary School will host a "Night of Nostalgia" on April 10, inviting the community to celebrate the school's history before its students move to a new building.
The event, scheduled from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m., will allow former students to revisit the original school, which opened in 1972. In July, students will relocate to a newly constructed elementary school building, which will be connected to the older structure. The original building will then house early childhood programs.
Principal Travis Moore said he anticipates seeing former students and hearing their stories. Assistant Principal Dr. Megan Hardy encouraged former teachers, students, and community members to attend, calling it a "last time" to celebrate the building.
The school is removing painted ceiling tiles and exterior frog plaques in preparation for the move. Individuals whose names or family names are on these items can take them home as keepsakes.
