NWS Confirms EF-1 Tornado in Bedford, Rutherford Counties

NASHVILLE – The National Weather Service has confirmed that an EF-1 tornado touched down in the Bedford and Rutherford County area during Saturday night’s storms.

An NWS Nashville storm survey team assessed the damage on Sunday and determined the tornado had a maximum wind speed of 95 mph. The tornado measured 300 yards wide and traveled 4.5 miles between U.S. 41A and U.S. 231.
