Manchester, TN – Park Partners, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, is spearheading efforts to construct a new playground at Fred Deadman Park, aiming to provide a safe and modern play area for the youth of Manchester. The current playground, originally built in 1997 as the Hunter J. Gattis Memorial Playground, has significantly deteriorated over the past 27 years. Safety concerns, including exposed sharp metal, have already led to the removal of some structures. Given the extensive repairs needed, Park Partners has decided that building a new playground—rather than fixing the old one—is the best course of action. A new playground design has been secured, with the project estimated to cost $850,000. Park Partners has already secured $100,000 in pledges but is actively seeking additional sponsorships to make the vision a reality.
