Despite a game-high 12 points from senior Brady Wright, the Coffee County boys basketball team fell in its season home opener to Seigel, 46-40, inside Joe Frank Patch Memorial Gymnasium in Manchester.
Coffee County came out strong in the first quarter, but Seigel found their rhythm early in the first eight minutes with a 12-11 lead. The Stars kept pace in the second quarter, increasing their deficit to a seven-point lead by halftime. The Red Raiders kept pace in the third quarter and ended with a buzzer shot that gave Coffee County a one-point lead 35-34. The Red Raiders continued to stand their ground but could not hold the Stars as Seigel ended the contest 46-40.
Brady Wright racked up 12 points in pivotal moments to earn Giles Dunn Diamond Company Player of the Game. The Red Raiders also had MJ Rollman and Kasen Lowery notch six points each. Jaiden Warren and Jayden Carter netted five points each, adding 10, which gave Coffee County the lead at the end of the third quarter. Coffee County will return to action on Friday, Nov. 22, as they travel to Cascade. The girls' game will tip off at 6 p.m., and the boys' contest follows at 7:30 p.m.
The next broadcast on 101.5 The Rooster will be on Friday, Dec. 3, as they host as they host Franklin County. Pregame coverage will begin at 5:45 P.M.
