Red Raiders Stumble on the Road Against Patriots in Regular Season Battle

A week after starting region play 1-0 with a shutout victory against the Siegel Stars, the Coffee County Red Raiders football team suffered a tough 42-0 loss to the Page Patriots Friday night in Franklin, TN. Coffee County came out strong in the game's opening half but was not able to overcome Page's dominant performance. Despite the Red Raiders (3-1, 1-0) firing on all cylinders throughout the game, the Patriots (4-0, 0-0) did not relinquish control as they sealed the game with 14 points in the second half. It marks Coffee County's second loss since losing to Shelbyville at home, 32-28. The Red Raiders now move to 3-2 overall.


Offensively for Coffee County, Deonte Short finished with a superb 45 rushing yards on 8 carries and five passing yards. Jayden Carter added 10 yards on just 2 carries on pivotal drives. Kane Dixon and Cole Pipenger both tallied nine yards total on two carries each. In addition to Dixons' nine rushing yards, he made two catches for five passing yards. Trace Stevens was named the Giles Dunn Diamond Company Player of the Game after an impressive defensive performance for the Red Raiders. Coffee County moves to 3-2 as they travel to Murfreesboro to face the Riverdale Warriors (4-1) on Friday, with kickoff set for 7 p.m. at Tom Nolan Field at Phil Watts Stadium.
