The Bedford County Sheriff’s Office has been made aware of a scam affecting the community. The scammer tells the intended victim that they have missed a court date or want to speak with you about a case. The caller then goes on to say that you must pay a fine. The caller has identified themselves as an employee of the Sheriff’s Office and may go by Deputy Eric West.
It's important to remember that the Sheriff’s Office will never solicit money from you for any reason, including missed court dates or fines.
