Scam Warning from Franklin County Sheriff's Department

The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office is reporting that scammers are targeting our area again. Community members have recently received calls from people pretending to be members of the sheriff’s office. The scammers ultimately ask for payment from the intended victim by threatening them with a fictitious warrant.

The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office will never call you to ask for payment over the phone, and they will not call you to tell you if you have a warrant.
