On March 15, 2022, an investigation by the TBI and deputies with the Bedford County Sheriff’s Office resulted in the arrest of Raymond Antonio Smith, 47, of Shelbyville, for murder.
Sarah Angelina Johnson was found deceased in a home in the 31 hundred block of Sims Road.
Smith was sentenced on Monday, June 17, 2024, in criminal court for the murder of Johnson. His jury trial was held last month in Bedford County. He received Life for the murder and 12 years for a theft of property count.
