The State of Tennessee will be investigating the cause of a fire that destroyed Palmer Elementary school on Sunday, according to the Grundy County Sheriff’s office. If anyone has any information or seen anything suspicious in the area, they’re asked to contact Detective McGinness at 931-383-0770.
Update Authorities are investigating arson as a possible cause of the fire that destroyed Palmer School in Grundy County on Sunday afternoon. A release says the fire broke out at about 3:30 p.m., and upon arrival firefighters found heavy smoke in the upper auditorium and lower classroom sections of the school. Crews tried to go inside but were met with heavy flames in the rear of the building, so they retreated to conduct an external attack. A little while later, the auditorium collapsed.
