Eight talented middle school cheerleaders from West and East Middle Schools have been named All-Americans this summer following their outstanding performances at the Universal Cheerleaders Association (UCA) Cheer Camp. These talented athletes will have the exciting opportunity to showcase their skills in the Thanksgiving Day Parade at Disney World.
The four All-American cheerleaders from West Middle School are Cambree Hammock, Mary Margaret Hatfield, Paizley Northcutt, and Amiyah Hayworth. East Middle School also had four cheerleaders who reached All-American status, and Bailey Albert, Macy Laporte, Harper Hill, and Lydia Gilliam received honors.
Their designation came during summer camp at MTSU after they competed rigorously in dance, cheer, and jumps, demonstrating remarkable precision and enthusiasm. Each cheerleader competed in groups of three that were randomly assigned.
“To be chosen as an All-American cheerleader, you must perform with few mistakes,” said West Middle School Coach Emily Smith. “I am extremely proud of these girls for being named All-Americans, and as All-American cheerleaders, they now have the opportunity to attend and perform for special events across the world.”
These eight TCS students were selected as All-Americans after competing against cheerleaders from approximately 15 different teams.
“Being named an All-American is not easy,” said EMS Coach Lauraleigh Crownover. “I am so proud of these cheerleaders for receiving this amazing award for their ability.”
These cheerleaders will perform with the Varsity Spirit All-Americans in a one-of-a-kind performance through Disney’s Magic Kingdom Park during Thanksgiving week. Besides enjoying a sunny trip to Orlando, these All-Americans will have the opportunity to meet other cheerleaders and dancers from across the nation and enjoy a magical holiday season at Walt Disney World Resort parks. The Thanksgiving Day performance will take place at Magic Kingdom at 1:20 p.m. Central Time.
“The cheerleaders' selection as All-Americans is a testament to their hard work, dedication, and precision in cheerleading,” said TCS Director of Schools, Dr. Catherine Stephens. “Their participation in the Disney World Thanksgiving Day Parade is a proud moment for their schools and a celebration of their remarkable achievements. Reaching All-American status is not easy and reflects the hard work that each of these students has put toward cheerleading.”
