
TULLAHOMA, TN – The City of Tullahoma’s Public Works Department, in partnership with the Tennessee Environmental Council, hosted a successful Recycle Roundup on March 1, 2025, helping to divert an impressive 24,779 pounds of materials from landfills.
A total of 141 households participated in the event, contributing various recyclable materials, including 7,100 pounds of tires, 6,000 pounds of cardboard, and 1,219 pounds of electronics. Other notable collections included 900 pounds of scrap metal, 3,500 pounds of clothing and shoes, and 1,620 pounds of mattresses.
Additionally, the event gathered 121 pounds of batteries, 8.75 pounds of medications, 460 pounds of glass bottles, and 900 pounds of paper shredding. Specialized items such as medical supplies, pet supplies, and eyeglasses were also collected, ensuring proper recycling and reuse.
