Tullahoma Sweeps Season Series with Central Magnet

Austin Tinnon turned in a monster performance tallying a career best 33 points and snagged 8 rebounds as the Tullahoma Wildcats downed Central Magnet 75-50 Tuesday night in Murfreesboro. 


Tinnon finished 13-17 from the field and 7-9 from the free throw line. Xavier Farrell added 18 points and 6 assists and Khani Johnson totaled 10 points to round out a trio of double figure scorers for the Wildcats.  


Central Magnet scored the first four points of the game before Tullahoma rallied to lead 17-10 after one. The Cats built a 16 point edge at halftime and held a 22 point advantage after three quarters. 


The Tigers were led by Hollis Jackson with 16 points. Nathan Deinard added 15. 


Tullahoma is now 22-3 overall and 6-1 in district 8-3A. Central Magnet drops to 6-20 overall and 0-7 in the district. 


To open the night, McLayne Bobo (18) and Isabella Lidstrom (14) finished in double figures to lead the Tullahoma Lady Wildcats to a 38-34 win at Murfreesboro Central Magnet Tuesday night. Lakaiyah Barnes, Addison Vincent and Lizzy Sharpton added 2 points each. Bobo finished 4-4 at the free throw line 


Central Magnet scored the opening basket of the game and led 9-7 with 3:01 to play in the first. However once Tullahoma took a 12-9 lead with 1:47 left in the opening frame the Lady Cats led the rest of the night. Tullahoma led by as much as 11 in the third before Central Magnet made a run in the fourth. However the Lady Tigers never got closer than 2 and Tullahoma hit four late free throws to seal the win. 


Madison Stanley led Central Magnet with a game high 22 points. 


With the victory the Lady Cats are now 15-10 overall and 7-0 in district 8-3A. Central Magnet falls to 7-18 overall and 3-4 in the district. 


Tullahoma visits Lawrence County Friday night while Central Magnet hosts Marshall County.
