As you heard on 93.9 The Duck. Tullahoma basketball picked up a pair of wins over Battle Ground Academy at home Monday night.
In the girls contest Tullahoma shook off a slow start outscoring BGA 23-3 in the second quarter to roll to a 63-40 win and improve to 4-0 on the season. McLayne Bobo tallied 31 to lead the way for the Lady Cats and earn Owens Provisions and Apparel Player of the Game honors. Isabella Lidstrom added 8 points. BGA was paced by DJ Haw with 17 and Tayla Stovall also finished in double figures with 8.
The nightcap was a back a fourth affair for most of the night with neither team able to build a lead of more than a few points before the other would narrow the margin or tie the game. Cashing in on their free throws late however Tullahoma was able to pull out a 67-61 win improving them to 2-1 on the season. Xavier Ferrell turned in another fantastic performance tallying a game high 33 points to garner Owens Provisons and Apparell Player of the Game honors. Jayden Thompson added 14 points and Khani Johnson scored 10 off the bench including four clutch free throws and a monster dunk down the stretch to help secure the win.
