Tullahoma Tops Shelbyville in Tuesday Hardwood Clash

In a double header you heard live on 93.9 The Duck Tullahoma basketball picked up a pair of victories over Shelbyville at home Tuesday night.

Up 5 at the half the Lady Cats used 11 third quarter points from Aubrey North to shake off a slow start and  down the Eaglettes 44-29 to improve to 6-0 on the season. McLaybe Bobo paced Tullahoma with 17 points and Isabella Lidstrom also finished in double figures with 10. North’s third quarter surge earned her Owens Provisions and Apparal Player of the Game honors. Lanaya Young paced Shelbyville, who fell to 2-4, with 10 points.

In the Boys game the Golden Eagles jumped out to an early 8-2 led and then it was all Tullahoma. The Cats outscored Shelbyville 15-4 the rest of the first quarter to gain a lead they’d never surrender. A 22 point third quarter, led by Xaiver Ferrell who again heated up in the third frame, helped the Cats build a double advantage and move to 5-1 on the year with a  60-41 win. Ferrell’s 24 led Tullahoma’s trio of double figure scorers. As Jayden Thompson tallied 16 and Khani Johnson added 14. Thompson work on the post on the offensive and defensive end earned him Owens Provisions and Apparel Player of the Game honors. Tae’Shawn Shelton paced the Golden Eagles, who dropped to 4-2, with 12 points.
