The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) recently awarded the Duck River Watershed Society $20,000,000 to help rehabilitate the river, which is currently under threat. Within its waters, the Duck River Watershed Society says you will find more than 650 aquatic species, which play a key role in helping purify the river. The Duck River Watershed Society is now undertaking a five-year project to help address the state of the river. In total, the group hopes to rehabilitate 20 to 30 miles of the river.
