In a game delayed 1 hour and 40 minutes by rain the Columbia Lions picked up their 2nd win in three days over Coffee County baseball. The Raiders, despite only one hit in the contest led the game from the 2nd inning until the 6th. The Lions managed 2 runs to get the 2-1 District 8-AAA win.
Brandon Jernigan was the Crazy Daisies Player of the Game. The action was heard live only on Rooster 101.5.
Next up for Raider baseball is a Friday home game against Pope John Paul II school.
In softball, the Lady Raiders had to move their game to Lynchburg as heavy rain fell Wednesday afternoon in Manchester. Gracie Pippenger had 3 hits and she knocked in 3 runs to help Coffee County (2-0) defeat Moore County 6-1.
The Lady Raiders travel to Shelbyville for 7pm first-pitch on Thursday.
