On Wednesday night in McMinnville, the Coffee County Red Raiders made it a 4-game sweep of the Warren County Pioneers this season with a 7-1 win.
Both teams scored one run in the first inning, and neither scored again until Coffee County scored one in the fifth. The Raiders took control in the sixth by plating four runs and one more in the seventh.
Carter McKenzie was credited with the win for Coffee County. He allowed one run on four hits over four and a third innings, striking out two and walking one. Timothy Henderson threw two and two-thirds innings in relief, gave up just one hit, and struck out 5 Pioneers.
The Red Raiders had 11 hits in the game. Aiden Robertson was 2-for-2 with doubles and knocked in 4 runs. Cole Pippenger had two hits, scored twice, and added an RBI. Nate Rutledge had two hits and an RBI, and Dayne Crosslin had two hits. Blake Hillis added an RBI single. Coffee County improved to 12-6 overall and 9-1 in district play. The Raiders will host Marshall County on Thursday at 6:30 PM.
