Raider Baseball stays Unbeaten after district win over Franklin County

Aiden Robertson didn’t allow a run and only one hit on Monday as Coffee County defeated Franklin County 10-0 in district baseball action. Robertson struck out 13 and didn’t walk a batter.

The Red Raiders secured the win thanks to eight runs in the fifth inning. Jacob Holder, Carter McKenzie, Trey Turner, and Caleb Moran all knocked in runs in the inning.

The Red Raiders collected nine hits on the day. Nate Rutledge and Moran had two hits each to lead Coffee County.  Moran had 3 RBI to go along with Holder and McKenzie with 2 RBI each.

A single by Payton Miller in the seventh inning was the only hit for Franklin County as he went 1-for-3 at the plate. Sam Vincent took the loss on the mound for the Rebels.

Tuesday at Powers Field in Manchester, the same two teams play their second of four games planned this season. Rooster 101.5 will be on hand for the play-by-play beginning at 5:45 PM for the pregame and 6 PM first pitch.

Coffee County is now 3-0 on the season and 1-0 in district play. Franklin County fell to 2-2 overall and 0-1 in the district.
