Coffee County watched the game slip away early and couldn’t recover in a 10-1 loss to Lincoln County Falcons on Friday.
After the Raiders led 1-0 after the first inning, Lincoln County scored three times in the second and never trailed again.
Bird Fellers took the loss for Coffee County as the Raiders fell to 10-6 overall. They will host Warren County on Monday night.
Carter McKenzie and Cole Pippenger each collected two hits for Coffee County in the loss.
Bad news for the Raiders as senior pitcher/3B Jacob Holder has been lost for the season. Holder tore his Ulnar Collateral Ligament (UCL) in his elbow during pregame work before the game on Tuesday.
Head Coach Kyle Douglas told On Target News, “No question about it, our team will miss Jacob Holder. He took the field each night with every intention of defending the interlocked CC and his teammates. For two and a half years, he’s shown that he knows nothing but leaving every ounce of himself between the chalk lines. He’s been a workhorse for us through and through. As a team, we have a chance to come together and return the favor to Big Jake for everything he’s done for us in his career.”
