Red Raiders and Lady Raiders Win on Monday

In a game heard on Rooster 101.5, the Coffee County Red Raiders hosted Shelbyville in baseball on Monday night.

Aiden Robertson was masterful on the mound as the senior righthander went the distance and allowed just five hits, one walk, and one run and struck out 14 Eagle batters in a 9-1 win for the Raiders.

Caleb Moran continued his hot hitting for the Red Raiders with a double and two singles. He knocked in two and scored once. Carter McKenzie also had a big night at the plate with a double, single, and three RBI. Jacob Holder had a double and two RBI. Robertson had a double, a single, and an RBI.

Palmer Edwards started the game for Shelbyville and suffered the loss. Michael Estrada, Caleb Molder, and Brody Lovvorn pitched for the Eagles in relief.

Caden Thomas went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Shelbyville in hits.

The Eagles (5-9/1-4) will host Coffee County (8-2/5-0) on Tuesday at 6 PM in Shelbyville.

 

In softball action on Monday, the Coffee County Lady Raiders were victorious over the Milford, Ohio Eagles, 5-1, at Terry Floyd Field in Manchester.

The story of the night was Coffee County senior pitcher Kaitlyn Davis. She surrendered one run on three hits over seven innings, striking out six and walking one. At the dish, she hit a 3-run homer in the third inning.

Madison Pruitt was also good at the plate; she went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead the Lady Raiders in hits.

Tuesday night Coffee County (8-4) travels to Shelbyville for district softball action. You can hear the game on The Rooster 101.5, www.rooster1015.com, or the Rooster 101.5 app.
