Report on Red Raider Softball and Baseball Tournaments

On Friday, the Coffee County Lady Raiders opened play in the Coffee County Classic against softball powerhouse Baylor School from Chattanooga.

Ella Arnold led Coffee County with two hits in two at-bats. Paisley Campbell and Jalyn Moran had one hit each.

The Lady Raiders’ games on Saturday were canceled.

Coffee County will be on the road on Monday for a game against Green Hill.

Red Raider Baseball hosted the Crethan Hansert Baseball Classic over the weekend.

On Friday, the Raiders struggled to get their offense going as they fell to the Moore County Raiders, 8-0.

Pitcher Landon Smith was outstanding for Moore County as he threw a no-hitter.

Coffee County pitchers only allowed three hits but allowed several walks that helped Moore County to the win.

Saturday’s game against Central Magnet Tigers was a heartbreaker for the Red Raiders, as they lost the lead late in a 12-9 defeat. The Tigers outscored Coffee County 7-2 in the fifth and sixth innings to enable them to upset the Raiders at Powers Field.

Brady Daugherty started the game on the mound for Coffee County. He allowed just two hits and three runs over three and third innings, striking out four. Davis McKenzie, Trevor Jesse, and Landan Abellana each contributed in relief for the Raiders.

Coffee County collected nine hits against Central Magnet. Jayden (Bird) Fellers contributed three hits for the 13-8 Raiders. Cole Pippenger and Caleb Moran had two hits each. Pippenger added 3 RBI.

Coffee County will travel to Shelbyville for district action on Monday, and you can check out the game on The Rooster 101.5, wwwrooster1015.com, or the Rooster 101.5 app.
