The Crethan Hansert Baseball Classic began on Thursday in Manchester at Powers Field. The Coffee County Red Raiders knocked off the Marshall County Tigers 6-3.
The Raiders pulled away for good with five runs in the third inning. In the third, Cole Pippenger doubled on a 1-0 count, scoring two runs, Aiden Robertson homered on a 0-1 count, scoring two runs, and Nate Rutledge doubled on a 1-1 count, scoring one run.
Jayden (Bird) Fellers was the winning pitcher for Coffee County (13-6). The lefty went five and two-thirds innings, allowing three runs on six hits and striking out six. Brady Daugherty threw one and one-third innings in relief out of the bullpen.
The Red Raiders saw the ball well today, racking up ten hits in the game. Fellers, Nolan Jernigan, and Rutledge had two hits each in the win.
