Westwood Middle School basketball opened their seasons at home on Tuesday night with both squads losing to Eagleville Middle School. In girls action, the Lady Rockets went into halftime with a lead 16-11, but a 27 point second half barrage by Eagleville and cold shooting by Westwood dropped the Rockets 38-24. Lady Eagle’s Brinli Bain had 27 points on the night including 4 3-pointers in the 4th quarter to pull away with the victory. Leading the Lady Rockets in scoring was Jules Ferrell with 14 points and Audri Patton added 4 points. In the second game of the evening, the Rockets went down 43-30. Jayden Carter poured in 12 points and Jaiden Warren added 10 in the loss. The Rockets will be in action again on Thursday when they host Cascade Middle.
