SBCO makes Donation to Sheriff’s Department Cadet Summer Camp

The Sportsman and Businessmen’s’ Charitable Organization has donated money to Coffee County Sheriff’s Department Cadet Summer Camp being held this summer.

Sgt. Laura Nettles said in regard to the camp, “During the week of May 31st through June 4th, we are having the Sheriff’s Cadet Summer Camp.”

This will be the 2nd camp after last year’s camp was cancelled due to the pandemic. So, last year’s cadets will be joining year’s camp adventure. Also, they have included the Middle School Explorers in the camp this year and they will be helping with the younger cadets as well as learning valuable skills in team building. These cadets and explorers will be participating in various activities to educate them on different aspects of law enforcement and emergency operations.

The Coffee County Sheriff’s Department will have leaders in law enforcement come and talk to the kids about topics, such as safety awareness, peer pressure, and making good choices, along with other fun activities.
