The Decherd Police Department wants to warn citizens about a phone scam that is currently circulating in the area.
The caller claims to be from the United States Clearing Grant Company. The person will call you to say you are a winner of a cash prize and ask for personal information. They will also ask for a prepaid amount of money to be sent to them first.
Decherd Police reminds everyone not to give the scammers any money or information. The best thing to do is simply disconnect the call.
