If you receive a notice that you are a recipient of some sort of grant, but you need to send in money first…IT IS A SCAM.
If you get a message/email that your social security number is compromised, but you need to confirm some information…THIS IS A SCAM.
If you get a message/email that you’ve won some sort of prize, but you have to pay “taxes” or a “fee” before you get your prize…THIS IS A SCAM.
If you get a message/email that the IRS, FBI, or even the Sheriff is going to arrest you for some unpaid fine or not showing up for jury duty, etc….THIS IS A SCAM.
Basically, if you have a question about a call, email, text, letter, or message, CALL YOUR SHERIFF’S DEPARTMENT or POLICE DEPARTMENT before you do ANYTHING.
And if they tell you NOT to call law enforcement…IT’S DEFINITELY A SCAM! DO NOT REPLY to any of these requests.
