Tennessee Secretary of State Gus (Tre) Hargett might be wishing he did not attend the Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival on Friday night. Hargett was arrested by Tullahoma Police for driving under the influence (DUI) after leaving the festival.
According to booking records, Hargett was booked into the Coffee County Jail just after 1 a.m. Saturday morning and after posting a $2,000 bond he was released just after 5 a.m.
Hargett said in a release to the media; On Friday night after leaving the Bonnaroo Music Festival, I was stopped by the Tullahoma Police Department and subsequently arrested for DUI. Driving Under the Influence is a serious matter, and I regret the circumstances that led to my arrest. I respect law enforcement and will trust the legal process as we move forward.
He has a court date of July 14, 2022, in Coffee County.
