For the first time since 1945, the University of the South will not play any fall sports, including football, in 2020.
The council of presidents for the Southern Athletic Association, an NCAA Div III league, has voted to suspend all conference competition for the fall semester of the 2020-2021 school year.
Sewanee went further and announced that none of its fall or winter sports teams would play against outside competition during the term. Football will be joined by cross country, field hockey, soccer, and volleyball for men and women.
