Shelbyville Gym to be named after Rick Insell

Rick Insell the longtime Shelbyville High School basketball coach and current head coach of the Middle Tennessee Lady Raiders will have the gym at Shelbyville named after him.

He was the head coach at Shelbyville for 28 seasons. Coach Insell compiled a record of 775–148 (.840) and won 10 state championships and won, a Tennessee record, 110 straight games. Insell was inducted into the Women’s Basketball Hall of Fame in 2017.

The public is invited to a reception at 1pm Saturday.

Sheriff's Dept. and taught Radio/TV for six years at Grundy County High School.
