Tennessee drivers won’t be slowed down by temporary lane closures for construction on interstates and state highways during the upcoming holiday travel period. The Tennessee Department of Transportation said the lane closure hiatus will begin Dec. 20 at noon and last through early Jan. 2. A few long-term closures will remain in place for safety and work-zone laws will remain in place.
Officials said 2.59 million motorists are expected to travel Tennessee roadways during the Christmas and New Year’s holidays.
