Tennessee Military to Conduct Emergency Response Exercises May 15-19

The Tennessee Military Department, along with several other agencies, will conduct emergency response exercises across the state from May 15 through May 19.

The “Tennessee Maneuvers 2024” exercise will take place in Hamilton, Bradley, McMinn, Rhea, Coffee, Davidson, Gibson, Hawkins, Knox, Loudon, Madison, Maury, Rutherford, Sullivan, and Wilson Counties.

The training scenario is based on emergency response to flooding in southeast Tennessee.

“These exercises, where we operate jointly, are crucial for our organization’s readiness,” said Maj. Gen. Warner Ross, Tennessee’s Adjutant General. “The more we work alongside one another, the more we get to fine-tune our policies and procedures. Building these relationships is vital to our effectiveness, and continuing to practice what we do will make all of us much better when it’s time to respond to the real thing.”
