Cats roll past previously unbeaten Montgomery Central

Another undefeated and state ranked region opponent came to Wilkins Stadium Friday night and Tullahoma sent them back home with a loss. The #2 Wildcats crushed #7 Montgomery Central 37-7 Friday to improve to 7-0 on the year.

The visitors got on the board first cashing in a Tullahoma turnover to take a 7-0 lead at 9:14 of the first.

Tullahoma answered right back with a 29-yard Keishawn Cummings touchdown with 6:40 left in the first. Justus Chadwick gave the Cats the lead with a 37-yard field goal with 3:13 remaining in the opening quarter. Less than a minute later the Cats expanded their lead to 10 cashing in a turnover with a 35-yard connection between Ryan Scott and Jacob Dixon making it 17-7 with 2:35 before the half.

Justus Chadwick’s 2nd field goal of the night, this time from 27 yards out, pushed it to a 20-7 lead for Tullahoma at the 4:22 mark of the third.

Just under 3 minutes later Krys Uselton picked off a Montgomery Central pass and take it 45 yards to pushed the Wildcat advantage to 27-7 with 1:33 to go in the third.

Justus Chadwick’s third field goal of the night, a 43 yarder, and a scoop and score fumble return by Brandon Painter capped the Tullahoma scoring in the 4th and another dominate Wildcat win.

Tullahoma which improved to 7-0 on the season and 5-0 in Region 5-4A travels Lawrence County next Friday at 7:00 on 93.9 The Duck.

Will is a Middle Tennessee native having been born and raised in Winchester. His love of radio began as a child listening to local stations on the way to school or while falling asleep at night. After High School, where he was active in student media, he attended the University of Tennessee majoring in Journalism and Electronic Media while covering sports for the campus radio station. He then moved into the business professionally as a board op/producer for Cumulus of Knoxville and the Vol Network. His radio journey then took him to Louisiana where he was the lead producer for ESPN New Orleans. After returning home to Winchester, he spent several years broadcasting local sports for stations in Franklin County before joining the Bowman Family. When he’s not at the station, Will enjoys spending time with his wife Shaina and his two fur babies (Toulouse and Belle), cheering on the Vols, Preds and Saints and in the kitchen or behind the grill trying out new recipes.
