Covid-19 Cases Go Up by Over 400 in Tennessee

The Tennessee Department of Health has confirmed additional cases of COVID-19 across the state on Friday, April 24.

The update adds 460 cases, bringing Tennessee’s total positive cases to 8,726. The number of new cases is the highest single-day increase health officials have reported.

The department reported a decrease in the overall death total for the state. On Thursday, 170 deaths were reported, a tweet from the TDH says a data error on April 23 was corrected which caused the decrease of deaths by two. The new number is now 168.

Out of the confirmed positive cases, 4,370 have recovered.

The latest number of hospitalizations is 808.

*Bedford County: 2 died; 138 confirmed cases; 18 recovered; 877 negative tests

*Coffee County: 0 died: 27 confirmed cases; 9 recovered; 803 negative tests

*Cannon County: 0 died; 10 confirmed; 5 recovered; 201 negative tests

*Franklin County: 1 died; 29 confirmed; 24 recovered; 651 negative tests

*Moore County: 0 died; 3 confirmed; 0 recovered; 106 negative tests

*Grundy County: 1 died; 28 confirmed; 20 recovered; 261 negative tests

*Lincoln County: 0 died; 11 confirmed; 7 recovered; 279 negative tests

*Warren County: 0 died; 4 confirmed; 3 recovered; 403 negative tests

*Rutherford County: 7 died; 364 confirmed; 176 recovered; 3,468 negative tests
