Tullahoma baseball decimates South Pittsburg

Tullahoma Wildcats defeated South Pittsburg 12-0 on Thursday as two pitchers combined to throw a shutout. Ragan Tomlin induced a groundout from Brayden Sanders to finish off the game. 

Jaxon Sheffield collected four hits in five at bats to help lead Tullahoma to victory. Sheffield doubled in the second, singled in the fourth, singled in the sixth, and doubled in the sixth. 

Tullahoma Wildcats fired up the offense in the first inning. Colton Emory singled on a 1-1 count, scoring one run. 

Tullahoma put up eight runs in the sixth inning. Tullahoma Wildcats big bats were led by Jacob Dixon, Emory, Tomlin, Joseph Duncan, and Sheffield, all driving in runs in the inning. 

One bright spot for South Pittsburg was a single by Sanders in the fourth inning. 

James Sells got the win for Tullahoma. The pitcher allowed one hit and zero runs over four innings, striking out three and walking zero. Tomlin threw two innings in relief out of the bullpen. 

Ryan Cagle took the loss for South Pittsburg. Cagle went five and a third innings, allowing eight runs on 13 hits and striking out three. 

Tullahoma Wildcats totaled 15 hits in the game. Sheffield, Emory, Dixon, and Sells all had multiple hits for Tullahoma. Sheffield led Tullahoma with four hits in five at bats. 

Sanders went 1-for-3 at the plate to lead South Pittsburg in hits. South Pittsburg didn’t commit a single error in the field. Luke Rector had the most chances in the field with seven.
