Tullahoma baseball defeats Grundy County

A seven-run fifth inning led Tullahoma Wildcats to a 12-2 victory on Monday. Ragan Tomlin, DJ Dillehay, Joseph Duncan, Colton Emory, and Tomlin all contributed in the big inning with RBIs. 

Grundy County Yellow Jackets got things started in the first inning when Alex Killian doubled on a 3-1 count, scoring one run. 

Tullahoma Wildcats pulled away for good with two runs in the third inning. In the third Jaxon Sheffield grounded out, scoring one run and Brody Melton doubled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run. 

Tullahoma notched seven runs in the fifth inning. The offensive onslaught came from doubles by Duncan, Emory, and Tomlin, a home run by Tomlin, and an error on a ball put in play by Dillehay. 

Tomlin led things off on the hill for Tullahoma. The lefthander allowed four hits and two runs over five innings, striking out four.

Austyn Thomas started the game for Grundy County. Thomas went three innings, allowing three runs on four hits, striking out one and walking one. Killian and Summer Dees entered the game as relief, throwing one and one-third innings and one inning respectively. 

Tullahoma Wildcats tallied one home run on the day. Tomlin had a long ball in the fifth inning. 

Tullahoma Wildcats tallied 13 hits. Jacob Dixon, Tomlin, Emory, and Duncan all had multiple hits for Tullahoma. Tomlin and Dixon all had three hits to lead Tullahoma.
