Tullahoma baseball defeats Shelbyville

Shelbyville Golden Eagles fell behind early and couldn’t come back in a 14-10 loss to Tullahoma on Monday. Tullahoma Wildcats scored on a walk by Sheffield in the second inning. 

Despite the loss, Shelbyville did collect nine hits in the high-scoring affair. Unfortunately, Tullahoma had 11 hits on the way to victory. 

Tullahoma got on the board in the second inning. Tucker was hit by a pitch, driving in a run. 

Shelbyville Golden Eagles scored six runs in the fifth inning. Shelbyville put the pressure on, lead by doubles by AJ Parker and Griffin Williams, a sacrifice fly by Hunter Wilhelm, and a groundout by Marquis Wilson. 

Tullahoma Wildcats scored six runs in the third inning. Duncan, Tucker, Sheffield, and Dillehay all moved runners across the plate with RBIs in the inning. 

Sholey got the win for Tullahoma. The fireballer surrendered three runs on four hits over four innings, striking out five. Falsone threw three innings in relief out of the bullpen. 

Aiden Edwards took the loss for Shelbyville. The righthander lasted two and two-thirds innings, allowing seven hits and nine runs while striking out four. 

Shelbyville Golden Eagles tallied nine hits in the game. Williams and Brady O’Neal each collected multiple hits for Shelbyville. Williams went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead Shelbyville in hits. 

Tullahoma Wildcats tallied 11 hits on the day. Emory and Morris all managed multiple hits for Tullahoma. Emory led Tullahoma with three hits in four at bats. Tullahoma was sure-handed in the field and didn’t commit a single error. Tucker had the most chances in the field with ten.
