Tullahoma Baseball falls in heartbreaker to Stewarts Creek

Tullahoma Wildcats effort to come back from down six runs in the fifth inning came up just short, as they fell 8-6 to Stewarts Creek on Thursday. Tullahoma scored four runs in the failed comeback on a home run by DJ Dillehay in the fifth and a single by Wade Collins in the sixth. 

Tullahoma couldn’t keep up with Stewarts Creek early in the game. Stewarts Creek scored on a triple by Luke Dymond in the first inning, a double by Brett Vondohlen in the first inning, a double by Keenan Saiyasak in the first inning, a single by Devyn McEachron in the second inning, and a error in the second inning. 

Stewarts Creek got things started in the first inning. Stewarts Creek scored one run when Dymond tripled. 

Stewarts Creek scored three runs in the second inning. McEachron, Dymond, and Vondohlen powered the big inning with RBIs. 

Zachary Lawson led the Stewarts Creek to victory on the pitcher’s mound. The fireballer allowed six hits and four runs over five innings, striking out two. Nick Kemp threw two innings in relief out of the bullpen. 

Joseph Duncan took the loss for Tullahoma. Duncan lasted two innings, allowing five hits and six runs while striking out one. 

Tullahoma Wildcats smacked one home run on the day. Dillehay had a long ball in the fifth inning. 

Collins went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead the Wildcats in hits. 

Stewarts Creek collected eight hits. Bryce Jackson, Saiyasak, and McEachron each had multiple hits for Stewarts Creek. Stewarts Creek was sure-handed and didn’t commit a single error. Austin Wooten made the most plays with nine.
