Tullahoma Wildcats stayed in it until the end, but Brentwood pulled away late in a 3-2 victory on Monday. The game was tied at one with the Wildcats batting in the top of the seventh when Jacob Dixon was struck by a pitch, driving in a run.
Pitching on the bump was strong for both sides. Brentwood pitchers struck out four, while Tullahoma sat down three.
Brody Melton led things off on the hill for the Wildcats. The righty surrendered zero runs on zero hits over four and two-thirds innings, striking out two. Ragan Tomlin and Cannon Emory entered the game from the bullpen, throwing one and one-third innings and one-third of an inning respectively.
